Monterey is a new project by KOS Studio.
The name holds distinctly local meanings: on one hand, it’s inspired by the view of the water; on the other, “montaña” means “mountain” in Spanish – and the apartment is located at the highest point of the building.
The interior was conceived as both modern and timeless. The clients gave KOS Studio complete freedom in shaping the concept, and we focused on expressive materials and precise detailing.
Wood takes center stage. Birch and oak – in various tones and finishes – work together through subtle contrasts and rich nuances. Matte and glossy surfaces create a play of light and bring a refined elegance to the space.
Some of the furniture was custom-designed by the studio. One of the standout pieces is the Balls Table.
The result is a tactile, clean, and warm space – with a distinct character all its own.
