Forward to the Roots by KOS Studio

At "Forward to the Roots", KOS Studio's exhibition during 3daysofdesign, the spotlight falls on the blend of time-honored Scandinavian craftsmanship and contemporary design.
This exhibition acts as a bridge between the past and the present, inviting guests to experience its sculpted pieces in a unique setting of Nordmandsdalen – a collection of 70 sculptures of regular fishermen and farmers as they looked in the 18th century Norway and the Faroe Islands, initiated by King Frederik V in 1764.
INTRODUCING
The centerpiece of "Forward to the Roots" is the Ula Armchair, KOS Studio brand new object created in collaboration with the fashion brand FLOW FEMME. Inspired by the lore of the Norse gods and woven with narratives of Scandinavian mythology, Ula Armchair emerges as a modern day throne, Hliðskjálf, which allows to see into all realms to those privileged to sit on it.
This collaboration aims to explore the interplay of fashion and furniture design, in a sustainable way. The Ula Armchair is crafted from stainless steel, a durable and recyclable material, and upholstered with denim fabric repurposed from unusable leftovers from FLOW FEMME jeans collection.

The Balls Tables

The Balls Tables – well-known KOS Studio objects – pay homage to the art of beadwork, a quintessential element of Nordic craft. The name of the collection captures the essence of the sphere – a symbol of perfection, warmth, and movement.

"From one sketch, inspired by the sphere – the most harmonious of all shapes – a series of Balls Tables objects emerged. And from one creative idea, a joyful and functional collection materialized," said Svetlana Koleda, founder of KOS Studio and creator of the Balls Tables.
